Community Guidelines

Our shared code of conduct to keep Ahl-Deen a respectful, authentic, and welcoming space for seekers of Islamic knowledge.

By using Ahl-Deen, you agree to follow these guidelines. They exist to protect the integrity of knowledge-sharing and the dignity of every member of our community — scholars and users alike.

Respect & Adab (Etiquette)

Treat every scholar and fellow user with kindness and courtesy. Islamic adab is at the heart of this community — speak gently, assume good intentions, and disagree without disrespect.

  • Address scholars with appropriate titles (Mufti, Shaykh, Ustadh) where applicable.
  • No personal attacks, name-calling, or belittling of any individual or group.
  • Respect differences of opinion across madhabs and schools of thought.

Authentic Knowledge

This platform exists to connect seekers with verified scholars. When sharing knowledge, cite sources where possible and avoid presenting personal opinion as established ruling.

  • Only verified scholars may issue fatwas or formal rulings.
  • Users should not answer religious questions on behalf of scholars.
  • Scholars are expected to reference Quran, Sunnah, and established fiqh where relevant.

Asking Questions

Ask sincere, clear, and specific questions. Avoid duplicating questions already answered, and be patient — scholars respond on their own schedule.

  • Search existing FAQs before submitting a new question.
  • Keep questions relevant to Islamic knowledge and guidance.
  • One focused question per submission helps the scholar respond thoroughly.

Community Interaction

Engage with posts, articles, and discussions in a constructive manner. Comments should add value, not noise or division.

  • No spam, self-promotion, or unsolicited links to external sites.
  • Debates are welcome when rooted in evidence and mutual respect.
  • Refrain from sectarian provocation or takfir of any Muslim.

Reporting & Moderation

Help keep the community safe by reporting content that violates these guidelines. Our moderation team reviews every report and takes appropriate action.

  • Report misinformation, harassment, or inappropriate content using the in-app report tool.
  • False or retaliatory reports are themselves a violation.
  • Repeated violations may result in content removal or account suspension.

Prohibited Content

The following is not tolerated and will be removed immediately:

  • Hate speech, bigotry, or discrimination of any kind.
  • Content promoting violence, extremism, or anything contrary to Islamic teachings.
  • Sharing private information (doxxing) of any user or scholar.
  • Commercial advertising without prior approval from the platform.

How we enforce these guidelines

Moderation actions may include content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination depending on the severity and frequency of violations. Scholars found violating guidelines may also have their verified status revoked. If you believe a decision was made in error, you may appeal by contacting support.
